The Museum is appointed Co-coordinator of the Northern Greece Branch of the Hellenic Olympic Academy, which is located within its premises.
THE MUSEUM’S AUDIENCE IN NUMBERS
Since its foundation, the Museum relies on income generated by its operations and private funding as it has no access to public funding.
Up until today, it was visited by:
600.000 family and school visits at educational programs and community outreach events.
320.000 individual visitors and tourists

THE MUSEUM CONSISTS OF
•A RARE COLLECTION OF OLYMPIC OBJECTS
This unique in the country Olympic collection is constantly expanding through the acquisition of valuable objects reflecting and testifying our great Olympic History.
•A PERMANENT EXHIBITION, ''OLYMPIC GAMES''
The permanent collection presents the History of the Olympic Games from Antiquity to present, shedding light to Summer and Winter Olympics, as well as to the most recent addition of Youth Olympic Games. Bridging past with present, the exhibition offers an engaging narrative combining present-day museological trends with digital applications and interactive exhibits.
•AN INTERACTIVE EXHBITION HALL, “THE SCIENCE OF SPORTS” – DONATED BY THE SCIENCE MUSEUM OF LONDON
A pleasant hands-on Olympic Experience designed by the London Science Museum. Both entertaining and educational, this interactive exhibition tests skills, reflexes, peripheral vision, flexibility and makes visitors understand how human body performs.
•A PURPOSE-BUILT CONTEMPORARY ARCHITECTURAL COMPLEX AT THE CROSSROADS BETWEEN CUTLURE & SPORT
A 4.500sq.m. contemporary building, located in a central city spot close to the exit connecting the ring road with the city, between the University Campus and Kaftantzoglio Stadium.

THE SCIENCE OF SPORTS
•WELLNESS & NUTIRION LAB
For over 15 years, the Museum delivers a nutrition program in the fully-equipped kitchen found next to its entrance hall. Following the directions of a professional Chef, the participants learn about healthy nutrition and prepare Tasty Meals. This innovative educational program, which changed Health Education standards in Greece, is offered daily to schools and during Saturday mornings for individual participation.
•IMAGINATIVE CHILDREN PARTIES & SPECIAL CELEBRATIONS
For Children & Youth, aged 4 to 12, museum educators craft special activities having to do with sport, art, pastry, fashion, architecture etc. For Adults there is the option of thematic parties.
•OLYMPIC CAMPS: WHERE VACATIONS TURN INTO AN OLYMPIC JOURNEY
During school vacation (Christmas, Easter, Summer), well-known athletes, coaches, scientists and artists deliver 5-day long Olympic Camps, for children and youth. Sports, Olympic Heritage, Nutrition, Art, Robotics, Architecture etc. make up an engaging program that aims to entertain and to promote physical activity and creativity.
